Identification and management tips

  • Control is difficult because of the extensive root system.
  • Long term Management should be implemented due to the plants aggressive nature and inconsistent response to control.
  • Rapid response and early control in the May/ June is critical to prevent seed production which occurs approximately 30 days after yellow green bracts form.
  • Spot Spray small patches and monitor for new infestations.
  • Cultivation is not recommended because root fragments can spread the infestation.
