General Best Management Practices:
Contact your local weed control agency for site specific BMP's
- Control is difficult because of the extensive root system.
- Long term Management should be implemented due to the plants aggressive nature and inconsistent response to control.
- Rapid response and early control in the May/ June is critical to prevent seed production which occurs approximately 30 days after yellow green bracts form.
- Spot Spray small patches and monitor for new infestations.
- Cultivation is not recommended because root fragments can spread the infestation.
