The Salt Lake County Weed Control Program has developed an education program that provides resources for the public and encourages the community to actively engage in local noxious weed issues. Examples of some of our projects include:
- Myrtle spurge/ Native Plant exchange held at the Salt Lake REI every April/ May.
- Presentations for community and land management groups on noxious weed identification, prevention, and control.
- Brochures and fact sheets for land managers interested in using the best techniques to actively manage noxious weeds.
Prevention is the first line of defense against [Noxious weeds]. The old adage "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" means placing a priority on preserving and protecting lands not presently infested.
