Three Options for Filing a Weed Complaint

Option 1

File a noxious weed complaint.

  • Failure to control or prevent the spread of noxious weeds in Salt Lake County is considered maintaining a public nuisance.
  • State law §4-17-8 holds owners liable for County costs.
Option 2

Report a problem with a common weed infestation
in UNINCORPORATED Salt Lake County.

  • By ordinance (Chapter 9.60 Weeds and Refuse, §9.60.010, §9.60.020) property owners in unincorporated Salt Lake County can report a common weed infestation.
  • The weed must be taller than 6 inches.
  • The infestation must be located within un-incorporated Salt Lake County.
  • If the weed location is within city limits, please contact the respective city agency. A list of contacts can be found below.

Send a message to the Weed Control Program office.
